The Serenity Prayer
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did , this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
In Jesus' Name, Amen
– Reinhold Niebuhr
About Celebrate Recovery
Thank you for your interest in Celebrate Recovery at Set Free Church! We are a group of men and women who lovingly support each other and are committed to serving God and the needs of you and your family using the 12 steps and 8 principles of recovery. We offer practical tools for leading a joyous, abundant and peaceful life.
Wherever you may be on your spiritual path, at Celebrate Recovery you will find a supportive community with a wealth of opportunities for personal growth.
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical program based on 8 principles that Jesus Christ taught in His message from the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5). In CR, our focus is on spiritual progress as opposed to perfection, and as we work through the Christ-based 12 steps, we become willing to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving our life problems. We learn that our identities are not based in our past behaviors. We are believers in Christ who struggle with past hurts, habits and hang-ups. We have come to the realization that we cannot keep what we have unless we give it away; therefore, the ultimate goal of recovery is to produce purpose-driven disciples who take the message of recovery in Christ to those who still suffer. Lessons are taught by ministry leaders and special guest speakers.
Celebrate Recovery meets Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7pm. For more information please email us at info@setfreechurchrocks.com.

If this is your first time bringing your child to Set Free Church, we know you are going to have questions. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
How old does my child have to be to start attending the nursery?
Our recommendation is that your child is at least six weeks old prior to bringing him or her to the Set Free Church Kids Nursery. If you would like to attend the adult worship services prior to your child being six weeks old, you are welcome to sit in the service or either of the family worship rooms located in the back of the worship center.
Where is the Set Free Children’s Nursery?
The Set Free Children’s Nursery is located in the children's wing and is called "Cross Carriers".
How will you contact me if my child needs me?
If your child becomes inconsolable or unwell, one of our children’s pastors will come get you or if your child¹s code appears on the monitor, please return to the Children’s wing room where you dropped him or her off.
Will my child have the same teacher each week?
Your child will remain in the same developmental stage and if you attend the same service each weekend, we will do our best to make sure your child attends the same room with the same teacher. We try to have 2 teachers so everyone can attend service.
Is there a private area available for nursing mothers?
Yes. In our Set Free Nursery, you will find a quiet area designed specifically for nursing mothers. Inside you will find rocking chairs and a changing table. If you have any other needs, please feel free to see one of the Set Free Nursery volunteers or staff and they will be happy to assist you.
How does Set Free Children keep parents involved in their child¹s experience at church?
We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches your child. Each week, volunteers do everything from greeting families to teaching and leading kids in worship. In addition, for most weeks, children will bring their lessons home. We encourage all parents to work with their children throughout the week to help with the memory verse and lesson of the week.
How can I volunteer in Set Free Children’s Church?
There are many positions available where you can serve. These include greeting families, teaching, co-teaching, loving and nurturing babies and many more. For more information on how you can be involved, please email us at info@setfreechurchrocks.com.

Meet Our Pastors

Our pastors, Marty and Jamie Dunkerly, are dynamic as they are down-to-earth, and have a thirst for God’s word. As a result, they preach with everyday clarity and have a hunger to reach all people for Jesus Christ. Our praise and worship teams seek to glorify the Lord in spirit and truth with a slightly edgy contemporary style. We will welcome you with a smile and a hearty handshake, or even a hug if you need one. We will love you as you are, but will love you enough not to leave you that way.
A word from Senior Pastor Marty Dunkerly
So many people are turned off from God and the church. Yet, they are still looking for something. That something is often a place to belong and a place to become. If you are looking to give God and church one more chance, then Set Free Church is for you. At Set Free, we are committed to being a church for people who have been disconnected from God and the church, for whatever the reason. Our promise to you is that you will love the difference. You will experience messages you can relate to, music that is uplifting and exciting, real relationships.

Vision Statement
At Set Free Church “It’s all about Jesus” make no mistake about that.
At Set Free Church we believe in Jesus’ radical, unconditional and unwavering love for us.
At Set Free Church we believe that Jesus is God. We also affirm that you may or may not believe that Jesus is God and we’re not asking you to change your belief system before you attend Set Free Church. We’re simply inviting you on a journey toward Jesus.
For years churches have placed a high priority on Jesus as the "get-out-of-hell-free card" At Set Free Church we place the highest priority on Jesus as a live-life-to-the-fullest invitation.
At Set Free Church we believe every person has a dream deep inside their hearts and that God put that dream there, not for our glory but for His Glory.
At Set Free Church we’re not really concerned with where you’ve been but where you’re going.
At Set Free Church we believe that the Bible is God’s Word, it’s real, it is living and it can be active in your life.
We believe that people who don’t go to church anywhere ARE NOT THE ENEMY. They are real people who need the perfect love that only God can give, and we believe that God gives this love through people...US.
At Set Free Church we do not and we will not display a holier-than-thou attitude toward anyone. We are all broken people, but He is putting us back together.
At Set Free Church, we believe that the Holy Spirit is the person of God who makes Himself available to every believer to empower us to live a Godly life before the Father and the world. He always works to reveal Jesus to you and through you.
And finally, and most importantly, at Set Free Church, we believe that Jesus really lived, that He really died on the cross, and that He really rose again on the third day. And we cannot and we will not candy-coat or water down God’s word –EVER!

About Us
Set Free Church is a Bible-believing, user-friendly, non-judgmental, family-orientated church with a growing children's ministry. We meet in a converted chicken house and have a “come as you are” dress code – leather and chaps, or jeans and a t-shirt. We believe in meeting people where they are and encouraging one another to stretch our faith.
What We Believe
We believe that God has called us to reach our community of Dahlonega, GA, and to the uttermost parts of the world. The structure of our church is contemporary in style and in worship. We don’t seek to entertain man, but only to entertain our God in our worship. We believe in the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and believe that they are necessary for the body of Christ as a whole.
We believe that true salvation comes only through the confession of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, repenting of sins, dying to self, and transforming to life as a follower of Christ.
We participate in water baptism by submersion, that it is only an outward expression of our salvation - dying to self, and transforming as a new creature in Jesus Christ.
We are non-denominational, meaning that we aren’t bound by the beliefs or structure of a particular denomination, only that of Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word.
Welcome to Set Free Church
Intoducing our new and updated website:
http://www.setfreechurchdahlonega.com/
Upon Attending Set Free Church the first thing you will notice is the relaxed atmosphere. We have a very diverse congregation made up of people from all walks of life. Initially founded as a "Biker Church", God has placed a yearning to create a church with a family atmosphere. So whether you decide to wear leather or a 3 piece suit, we encourage you to come and be a part of our family. It is our desire to see the fulfillment of Malachi 4:6 “And he will turn the hearts of the Fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their Fathers."
Our pastors, Marty and Jamie Dunkerly, are dynamic as they are down-to-earth, and have a thirst for God’s word.
